Indeed it is winter, cold, just before the dawn. Almost russian if it were not for the obsessive romanian voice which seems to come from between the wars. I checked, now, and it's Maria Lătăreţu, with Vă las cântecele mele (I leave to you my songs). Surely she was among those who convinced my father to make me ;).

Generally it sounds, to me, like the emotion of the first serious exam in school. It also sounds like watching from the Rarău mountain towards the surrounding blue mountains, on a day heavy with rain clouds.

And then, that huge step, repeating: life after reading your first important book. Emotion of a kind I can't express, there was a word in Romanian but I didn't use it for a long time, and I forgot it :(, died a little.

Sounds like the Romanian peasants called to move to work in the industry at the beginning of the '50s: waking up at 4 o'clock in some earthly paradise corner to take the bus to their new half-a-century-life.

Based on the first 9 minutes, I would rather call it 1949. I bet everybody in the byzantine area felt then that the
force
was with them.

Oh, I took down most of my blog because I'm about to put up a new site and the blog was collecting large amounts of spam. Hopefully I'll have the new site setup this weekend. Thanks for listening!

BTW I'm not going to put anything about 1989 up on my site until the whole project is done which will be in another month or two. But I'd love to hear your thoughts on the preview :)

I remember :) Now, WTH happened to your blog, man? Thanks for this piece, I'll let it do its work and will post my "review" as a trackback to your blog when you'll announce it there. My e-mail surely works but you have to have javascript enabled on your browser, otherwise you'll get the fake one, which is designed for spammers ;).

Hi Romeo

Sorry to comment like this on an unrelated post, but your email address doesn't seem to work, and this was the only I way I could think of to contact you. I'm Jon, from Disparition. I don't know if you remember, but you made some great posts about my last album, Transmutations, on your blog a few months ago. Anyway, please don't spread this around or anything, but I wanted to show you a little preview of something. This is only the first third of it, and it's still quite rough, but anyway... let me know what you think! You can get in touch with me at [...] if you want to talk.
